DNA News - Glendale

Students will determine the identity of a DNA sample and learn much more about the exciting field of biotechnology in a new class at Glendale Community College. "Introduction to Biotechnology" (BIO 107) is designed for anyone who wants a basic understanding of biotechnology and its impact on the global economy. The course will cover the history of biotechnology, applications in various careers, laboratory techniques, international economic benefits, and legal/moral issues. Topics will include analysis of molecules, properties and identification of DNA, genetic engineering, forensics, biological weapons, and much more.
